Skye Children's Cooperative is an Exceeding NQS, community-owned, not-for-profit early learning service in Macleod. As a small, 44-place centre with almost 40 years of strong community connection, we are seeking casual educators to join our team who care deeply about children's rights, wellbeing, safety and education. At Skye, we value genuine partnership between families and educators and believe early childhood education is meaningful, important work. Our practice is grounded in critical reflection, strong relationships, respect for Australia's First Peoples, nature pedagogy, sustainability, and an ethical responsibility to children and families. Our team often says one of the things they value most about working at Skye is the sense of connection and support. As a small centre with small group sizes, educators know each other well, work collaboratively, and are supported by an experienced team with that genuinely cares about staff wellbeing. Children and educators spend significant time outdoors across our large natural environments, and at our bush and nature learning program site for babies, toddlers and kindergarten children. We are well resourced and committed to creating thoughtful, engaging learning environments where both children and educators can flourish and celebrate the joy of early childhood education and care.

We are looking for casual educators to join our team, to cover planned and unplanned leave, with availability across the working week. Casual educators at Skye are considered a key part of our team and are invited to all team meetings and professional development, and are paid for this time. We are looking for educators that are adaptable, and able to work with infants, toddlers and kindergarten children. People who show initiative, can pick up on rhythms and cues quickly and can confidently ask for support when needed.
