Spargo’s Cafe Bar (Leadpro Group Pty Ltd as The Trustee for Leadpro Group Unit Trust) is looking for a talented Chef.
Tasks Include:
- Create and execute innovative menus in conjunction with the head chef, incorporating seasonal ingredients and special offerings.
- Develop new recipes and refine existing ones based on customer preferences and emerging food trends under the supervision of head chef.
- Ensure dishes are diverse, imaginative and consistently meet high quality and presentation standards.
- Work with head chef to oversee day-to-day kitchen operations to ensure efficiency and a seamless workflow.
- Monitor the presentation, flavour and quality of all dishes leaving the kitchen.
- Prepare meals that accommodate dietary restrictions and train new staff in proper cooking techniques.
- Uphold the highest standards of culinary preparation, taste, and visual appeal.
- Conduct routine tastings and quality checks before food is served.
- Resolve any food-related concerns and maintain open communication with head chef and other kitchen staff.
- Assist head chef in management of the kitchen budget and implement strategies to reduce food waste and control costs.
- Supervise, coach, and mentor kitchen team members, promoting consistent performance and professionalism.
- Oversee procurement of ingredients, equipment and kitchen supplies while adhering to budget constraints.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and conduct regular stock audits.
- Ensure full compliance with kitchen health, safety and hygiene regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation across all kitchen areas.
- Oversee the safe storage, handling and disposal of food products.
- Collaborate with head chef on menu development, promotions and special events.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure cohesive service and explicit communication.
- Strive for high customer satisfaction by delivering top-quality food and service.
- Integrate guest feedback into ongoing culinary and service enhancements.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
- Cert IV or Diploma in the relevant field.
- Minimum 3 years of Full time relevant Work Experience as a Chef.
- Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, food trends, and menu development. Creative and passionate about delivering high-quality dishes.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations.
- Financial acumen in managing kitchen costs, inventory, and food waste.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Pay: $79,500.00 – $83,000.00 per year
