Phoenix Rising For Children (PRFC) is an Office of the Children’s Guardian accredited organisation providing quality support services to children, young people, and their families.

Contact Supervisors are responsible for supervising and transporting children and young people attending contact visits with their birth family and/or significant others.

PRFC is seeking Contact Supervisors across metropolitan Sydney who are willing to travel throughout Western Sydney, the South, East, and North Shore. We reimburse travel expenses for journeys exceeding 20 km to and from visits, as well as when transporting children.

Our services extend across Greater Sydney, including Miranda and Cronulla in the south, Bondi and Vaucluse in the east, Avalon and Hornsby in the north, and suburbs such as Bankstown, Parramatta, Blacktown, Campbelltown, and Penrith in the west.

The position is part-time casual, and we are looking to recruit individuals seeking a long-term commitment. Experience working with children and families is essential, as this role requires the ability to build rapport, support families during contact visits, and prepare clear, detailed, and objective reports.

This is a niche opportunity suited to a unique individual who values flexibility, meaningful work, and the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of children and families.

We have a particular need for Supervisors available on weekends, as this is when children are not at school and parents are generally not at work, making this the most suitable time for family contact visits. This role is ideal for individuals seeking flexible part-time work, including those who are studying, have caring responsibilities, or are balancing another part-time role during the week. It is not intended as a full-time position, but rather an ongoing opportunity for someone seeking meaningful and flexible work.

About the Role

Contact Supervisors are responsible for:

- Providing support and supervision to children, young people, and families throughout contact visits
- Monitoring children’s safety, wellbeing, and welfare
- Managing tension and conflict appropriately
- Identifying ways to enhance interactions between children and family members
- Observing and recording interactions between parents/significant others andchildren or young people
- Making recommendations to support improved contact outcomes
- Preparing detailed and objective reports following contact sessions

PRFC provides professional supervision and training, adaptable working conditions, and opportunities for ongoing professional development.

As a Contact Supervisor, you will work with vulnerable children and young people in out-of-home care and community settings, as well as children and families involved in family law matters.

Criteria

- Tertiary qualifications relevant to working with children, young people, and families(e.g., social work, psychology, welfare, youth work)
- Minimum diploma qualification
- Experience working with children and young people
- Understanding of out-of-home care services, mandatory reporting requirements, and NSW Child Protection legislation,



or willingness to learn
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including empathy, compassion, and understanding
- Current driver’s licence and own comprehensively insured, reliable motor vehicle
- Own mobile phone, computer, and access to the internet
- Exceptional observational and writing skills
- First aid certificate, or willingness to obtain

Remuneration

$33–$56 per hour + superannuation, mileage, and other benefits
