We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a high-tech manufacturing setting, supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of advanced electrical test systems and manufacturing equipment.
This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys being hands-on, solving complex technical problems, improving equipment performance, and working closely with production teams to drive measurable improvements.
You will play a key role in supporting manufacturing operations by maximising equipment uptime, improving process efficiency, reducing waste, and ensuring products are manufactured safely and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on electrical engineering support to manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and within quality standards.
- Act as the first point of contact for electrical test systems, manufacturing equipment, and process-related issues, ensuring equipment performance and reliability are maintained.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults, investigate equipment failures, and implement corrective and preventative actions to minimise downtime.
- Support the operation, maintenance, and improvement of electrical test systems, HV test equipment, fixtures, and manufacturing process equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and reliability improvements to maximise equipment uptime and reduce unplanned failures.
- Work safely with high-voltage systems, applying appropriate risk assessments, engineering controls, isolation procedures, and personal protective equipment requirements.
- Analyse test performance data, including first-pass yield and failure trends, to identify improvement opportunities and support root cause investigations.
- Develop, review, and improve test procedures,
work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Use Excel and data analysis tools to collect, analyse, graph, and present manufacturing performance data to support engineering decisions.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on process efficiency, equipment reliability, waste reduction, and product quality.
- Collaborate with production, quality, engineering, and maintenance teams to implement improvements and support new equipment installations.
About You You are a practical and solutions-focused Electrical Engineer who enjoys working close to manufacturing operations. You have strong troubleshooting capability, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to identify issues, communicate solutions, and drive improvements.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working as an Electrical Engineer within a high-tech manufacturing environment supporting production operations .
- Experience supporting manufacturing test equipment , including troubleshooting failures, improving equipment performance, and supporting production testing.
- Minimum 1 year experience working with high-voltage systems , with a strong understanding of electrical hazards, engineering controls, protective equipment, and safe work practices.
- Experience conducting risk assessments and implementing controls before undertaking non-routine electrical activities.
- Strong understanding of root cause analysis techniques and the ability to investigate equipment issues and low test yield performance.
- Experience analysing manufacturing data, identifying trends, and presenting findings through reports, graphs, and visualisations.
- Experience developing and improving test procedures, technical documentation, and SOPs.
- Strong Excel skills, including data analysis, tabulation, graphing, and reporting.
- Strong communication skills, with the confidence to raise issues, recommend changes, and collaborate with stakeholders across engineering and manufacturing teams.
Desirable Experience
- Experience delivering continuous improvement projects supported by data analysis and measurable outcomes.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, SPC, process improvement methodologies, or structured problem-solving tools.
- Experience with high-voltage product testing and Australian electrical safety standards.
- Experience with LabVIEW or similar test and automation software.
- Exposure to cleanroom environments, vacuum systems, coating processes, or precision manufacturing equipment.
Why Join?
This is an opportunity to join a technically advanced manufacturing environment where your engineering expertise will directly contribute to improving equipment reliability, production performance, and product quality.
You will have the opportunity to work on challenging engineering problems, collaborate with experienced teams, and make a tangible impact through innovation, problem solving, and continuous improvement.
