Altitude Learning Pty Ltd is a rapid-growing English enrichment and tutoring company providing advanced programs for students in Years 3 to 8.

Our students have achieved strong results, including earning scholarships, gaining entry to selective schools and achieving top positions within their schools. We are seeking capable and reliable English Writing Markers to help us continue delivering high-quality learning and feedback.

About the Role

This is a fully remote, casual position focused exclusively on marking English writing.

Approximately 6 to 10 hours of work may be available each week, although hours will vary depending on submission volumes and organisational needs.

Markers may work across one year level or several year levels, depending on their experience and availability. Applicants may nominate as few as one year level or indicate that they are confident marking across Years 3 to 8.

Successful applicants will:

- mark English writing tasks using supplied rubrics and guidelines
- provide clear, constructive and age-appropriate written feedback
- identify strengths and areas for improvement and comment on language choices, grammar, syntax, vocabulary, idea development, organisation and text structure.
- apply a sound understanding of advanced English concepts
- use Google Classroom to access, assess and return student work




- complete marking accurately and within agreed timeframes and maintain consistent and professional marking standards
- follow Altitude Learning’s marking guidance and feedback expectations, and communicate with the marking coordinator or relevant team member regarding standards, deadlines and any questions that arise.

Training in our marking processes, feedback expectations and Google Classroom will be provided.

Ideal applicants will demonstrate:

- a strong command of written English
- a sound understanding of advanced English concepts and writing expectations
- knowledge of grammar, syntax, vocabulary, idea development and text structure
- the ability to communicate feedback clearly, accurately and encouragingly
- excellent attention to detail, a positive attitude and a willingness to receive and apply constructive feedback.
- strong time-management and organisational skills
- confidence using computers and online platforms.

Teaching qualifications,



an English or education degree, and experience marking student writing using rubrics are highly regarded but not essential for all applicants.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must:

- Have reliable access to a computer and internet connection
- Be able to work independently and follow detailed marking guidelines
- Meet agreed deadlines
- Maintain student privacy and confidentiality
- Produce all marking and feedback independently

The use of artificial intelligence to assess student work or generate feedback is strictly prohibited.

Hours and Pay

Approximately 6 to 10 hours of work may be available each week. Hours are not guaranteed and may vary.

Pay will depend on qualifications, experience and the year levels the applicant is approved to mark. Further information will be provided during the application process.

Employment conditions will be provided in accordance with the National Employment Standards and the applicable modern award.
