About us
The Inclusion and Intersectionality team is a part of the Transformation, Development and Inclusion team (TPI) within the wider People Safety and Culture team. TPI is responsible for management of the department's workforce transformation, planning, and inclusion and intersectionality programs and projects.
The team leads work that helps create a more inclusive department by developing policy, strategy and action plans that support disability, multicultural and multifaith communities, LGBTIQA+ communities and gender equality. It also coordinates the department's work on key Victorian Government diversity and inclusion commitments.
What you will do
As senior policy officer, you will help deliver the department's inclusion and intersectionality priorities through policy, strategy and project work.
You will work closely with teams across the department and the Victorian Public Service to support inclusion and improve outcomes for diverse communities.
You will:
- lead strategic policy projects from research through to delivery and evaluation
- prepare high-quality briefings, reports and advice to support informed decisions
- support important inclusion initiatives across gender equality, disability, multicultural and multifaith communities and LGBTIQA+ communities
- represent the department in key forums and working groups while building productive working relationships
- monitor effective programs and recommend improvements based on evidence and results.
About you
A relevant tertiary qualification in public policy or social science is highly desirable. You should have experience developing policy, managing projects and preparing clear written advice.
You should also have:
- strong policy development, implementation and evaluation skills
- the ability to analyse complex issues, interpret legislation and provide sound advice
- well-developed project management skills with the ability to deliver quality outcomes
- clear communication skills and the ability to build productive working relationships.
