About the Position

Location: Port Augusta
Base hourly rate: From $36.22 per hour plus superannuation
Employment status: Multiple part-time positions, 0.60 FTE

Join our Supported Residential Care team and help create a safe, reliable and supportive home for children and young people who cannot live with their families.

Through consistent, trauma-informed care, you will build trusted relationships, support daily routines and help young people develop confidence, independence and life skills.

The service operates 24 hours a day. You must be available across a rotating roster that includes overnight shifts, weekends and public holidays. Penalty rates are paid in addition to the base hourly rate.

Applicants progressing beyond interview will complete a Psychological Suitability Assessment. We will explain the process and provide clear instructions beforehand.

Skills and Experiences:
About You:

- Be compassionate, reliable and able to remain calm in challenging situations.




- Be able to support children and young people with high and complex needs.
- Hold a current Australian driver’s licence.

- Hold or be actively working towards within six months of commencement, a recognised relevant qualification approved under the Department for Child Protection Personnel Requirements Matrix.
- If you do not yet hold the qualification, UCSA will fund a Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention as part of your approved pathway.
- Hold, or be willing to obtain, the required employment screenings and complete mandatory training.
