Job Title: Cook and Kitchen Hand
Location: Dakabin Cafe 63
Reports To: Kitchen boss

Job Summary:

Cafe 63 is seeking a motivated and reliable Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for preparing high-quality meals in a fast-paced café environment. You will be responsible for preparing breakfast, lunch, and light dinner items to the highest standards of hygiene, presentation, and taste.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and cook menu items in line with Cafe 63’s recipes and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with food safety regulations.
- Ensure that all food preparation is completed in a timely manner, particularly during busy periods.
- Monitor inventory levels and notify the supervisor of any shortages.
- Assist in receiving and properly storing food supplies and deliveries.
- Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including safe food handling and hygiene standards.
- Perform cleaning duties, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces,



and disposing of waste appropriately.

Requirements:

- Previous experience as a cook or kitchen hand in a café or restaurant setting preferred.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of safe food handling and hygiene practices.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- A positive attitude and ability to work well in a team.

Desirable Qualifications:

- Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (preferred but not essential)
