Position Summary

The Leading Hand is a trade-qualified carpenter responsible for delivering townhouse construction projects. This role leads site teams to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and to required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Safety

- Identify, manage, and report hazards

- Ensure compliance with SWMS and safety standards

- Maintain protected, operational tools and equipment

Project Delivery

- Execute work to high quality and company standards

- Meet project timelines and report issues daily

- Ensure defects are rectified within required timeframes

Planning & Organisation

- Plan and communicate daily tasks to site teams

- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised worksite





- Prepare for and manage deliveries, verifying materials

Leadership

- Supervise and support labourers and trades

- Ensure quality workmanship across all activities

- Address or escalate issues in line with company values

Skills & Experience

- Certificate III in Carpentry

- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Leading Hand role

- Residential construction experience (townhouses preferred)

- Current Driver’s Licence, White Card, and Skid Steer ticket

- Strong knowledge of plans, construction methods, and materials
