22G Motor Works is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our team in Salisbury Plain, South Australia. Position: Motor Mechanic

Location: 22G Motor Works, 84C Stanbel Rd, Salisbury Plain SA 5109

Annual Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 plus superannuation

Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

- Conducting vehicle inspections, diagnostics, servicing and repairs.
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, braking and other vehicle systems.
- Using diagnostic scanning equipment and computer-based systems to identify and resolve faults.
- Dismantling, inspecting, repairing and replacing worn or defective parts and mechanical components.
- Reassembling engines, parts and mechanical components after repairs.
- Performing scheduled logbook servicing, oil changes, lubrication, tune-ups and routine safety checks.
- Testing and adjusting repaired parts and vehicle systems to ensure proper performance.
- Carrying out road tests where required to confirm vehicle faults and repair outcomes.
- Referring to manufacturer specifications, technical manuals and service information when completing repairs.
- Inspecting vehicles and advise on repairs or work required to achieve roadworthiness.
- Maintaining accurate records of inspections, services, repairs, parts used and work completed.




- Assisting with ordering parts and maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop.
- Following all workplace health and safety procedures.

Qualifications and experience

Applicants must have one of the following:

- AQF Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, including relevant on-the-job-training;
- Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis;
- an equivalent relevant qualification; or
- at least three years of relevant full-time experience as a Motor Mechanic in substitution of a formal qualification.

Applicants must also demonstrate:

- At least one year of relevant experience as a Motor Mechanic.
- Strong diagnostic and repair skills across a range of light motor vehicles.
- Experience using diagnostic scan tools and workshop equipment.
- Ability to diagnose and repair faults involving engines, transmissions, suspension, steering and braking system.
- Ability to read and apply technical manuals, manufacturer specifications and service information.
- Positive attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate service and repair records.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a workshop team.
- A commitment to workplace health and safety procedures.
- A current driver's licence to valid for driving in South Australia.
