The Role
Drover Ag is currently partnering with multiple employers offering high-performance beef feedlot opportunities. As a dedicated Feedlot Hand looking to immerse yourself in the day-to-day husbandry, feeding, and facility maintenance, these positions offer a significant pathway to skilled growth.

A typical day for a Feedlot Hand involves a precise balance of husbandry and operational management. You will be at the forefront of feeding and ration management, which includes monitoring bunk levels, managing feed mixing, and ensuring the timely delivery of feed to maintain optimal cattle performance. This is paired with a rigorous approach to livestock health; you will conduct daily monitoring of pens to identify any sick or injured animals, administer prescribed treatments, and maintain accurate health records to ensure the highest welfare standards.

Beyond animal care, the role demands a proactive approach to yard maintenance. This involves cleaning pen environments, ensuring water troughs are operational, and performing routine repairs on infrastructure to keep the facility in peak condition. You will also leverage technology, using livestock management software and EID systems to record vital data, track weight gains, and manage animal movements. Throughout these general operations—including processing, drafting, and loading cattle—you will work as part of a team committed to strict safety protocols and professional excellence.
