Our client is delivering a major shutdown at a large manufacturing facility and is seeking experienced Maintenance Fitters to join the team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a significant industrial shutdown, carrying out critical maintenance, repairs, and equipment overhauls in a safety-focused setting.

About the Role
Working as part of a skilled shutdown team, you will complete planned mechanical maintenance, equipment overhauls, repairs, and installation work across a large manufacturing plant. You'll play a key role in ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard within strict shutdown schedules.
Key Responsibilities

- Carry out planned shutdown maintenance on fixed plant and production equipment.
- Perform mechanical fitting, repairs, equipment overhauls, and component replacements.
- Complete welding, fabrication, and structural repairs where required.
- Inspect plant and equipment, identifying defects and reporting required repairs.
- Install, align, and commission mechanical equipment including pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, bearings, valves, and rotating equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, maintenance procedures, and technical documentation.
- Complete work orders and maintenance documentation accurately.
- Maintain high safety standards and comply with all site procedures and permit requirements.




- Work collaboratively with supervisors and tradespeople to deliver shutdown milestones on schedule.

What We're Looking For

- Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter, Fitter & Turner
- Current White Card.
- Current EWP and Working at Heights tickets.
- Previous shutdown or heavy industrial maintenance experience.
- Strong mechanical fitting, fault finding, welding, or fabrication skills.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Commitment to working safely in a high-risk industrial environment.
- Ability to work overtime and extended shifts throughout the shutdown if required.

Highly Regarded

- Experience within manufacturing, processing plants, mining, or heavy industry.
- Experience working on conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, rotating equipment, crushers, or processing machinery.
- Confined Space ticket.
- Forklift or Dogging tickets.
- Strong team attitude with a reliable work ethic.
