Introduction:
The position exists to advise personnel and departments at Woodie on how to effectively meet their health and safety obligations. The incumbent will safely, productively and cost efficiently contribute to the success of the Health Safety and Training team and the Australian business.
Description:
Role Responsibilities:
- Support the Senior Advisor H&S; in providing support and advice to line management and personnel relating to safety and health management
- Assist in the maintenance of the site INX databases, accounting for site incidents and hazards
- Provide data analysis and insights into key health and safety trends and exposures of the site
- Conduct Risk Assessment and Hazard Identification activities
- Conduct audits to ensure compliance with standards and procedures, working to develop recommendations and actions
- Lead investigations where required. Coach others during investigations and prepare necessary reports
- Attend and contribute to toolbox and pre-start and safety committee meetings
- Provide current data and up to date registers in the management of Mining Minds Matter Program, and assist in its implementation across site
- Deliver safety training and awareness programs
- Undertake additional duties as reasonably requested by your Leaders in line with your skills, experience and competency level.
Role Specific:
- Provide guidance on implementation and compliance to the Mine Safety Management System
- To assist in the creation and implementation of the Company’s Health Safety and Training Strategic Plan that is aligned with proactively reducing exposure and adding value to the Safety culture of the site and its employees
- Ensure adherence to Health & Safety legislative compliance
- Use strategic and critical thinking to identify and provide solutions to risk exposure
- Attend and assist at the scene of incidents whilst on shift as required

- Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) relevant to each task.
- Follow established standard work procedures and ensure consistency in safety practices.
- Conduct and participate in relevant risk assessments (e.g. Take 5’s, JHA’s, Safe Act Observations) as required.
- Report any workplace health, safety, or environmental issues to your supervisor immediately.
- Familiarise yourself with and comply with all ConsMin Policies, Procedures, and Standards.
Skills and Experiences:
Required:
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar role
- Certificate IV or Diploma in OHS/WHS
- ICAM or other investigative qualification
- Strong understanding of risk management principles and the ability to develop and implement effective control measures
- Drivers Licence
Desired:
- Experience and understanding of INX safety reporting software
- Auditing Qualification (highly regarded)
- Certificate III in Mines Emergency Response and Rescue (desired)
- Understanding of Occupational Hygiene requirements (desired)
- Certificate in Approved Drug Screening
