Lake Macquarie Private Hospital is a 187 bed acute Medical and advanced surgical hospital situated on the Pacific Highway at Gateshead, 15 kms south of the Newcastle CBD.

About the Role

An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Dietary Aide to work at Lake Macquarie Private Hospital on a causal basis. The role includes the identification and communication of special dietary needs to the Dietician and performing nutritional support tasks for patients within the Hospital as required by the Dietician.

Duties include but are not limited to:

- Checking computerised ward bed lists
- Preparation and delivery of suitable menus to patients
- Assisting patients with choice
- Printing chef's list
- Awareness of patients with special dietary needs
- Check therapeutic meals stock

About You

To succeed in this role, you will be a qualified Diet Aide with a passion for culinary preparation and service. Ideally, you will bring experience within a clinical setting or in preparing food for medical patients. Strong organisational skills and the capacity to handle high volume catering workflows will be key to this role.

Essential Criteria:





- Certificate qualifications in Dietary Practices, Dietary Aide or equivalent
- Sound knowledge of nutrition
- Good standard of written and verbal communications skills
- Effective organisational skills
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team workplace and independently as required
- Commitment to high quality patient care and ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Sound computer skills in Microsoft products

Desirable Criteria:

- Minimum of 12 months relevant experience in a hospital setting
- Knowledge of kitchen hygiene

Additional Information
