About us:

Central Queensland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (CQMHAODS) provide top-notch mental health, substance, and alcohol support to the awesome communities of Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Central Highlands, and Banana. With services spread across these vibrant areas, we're reaching over 250,000 people.

We work hand-in-hand with local hospitals, mental health and AOD teams, primary health, community groups, and private providers. Our mission? To help reduce mental health symptoms and guide folks on their journey to recovery.

About the role:
Connect with consumers, carers, and staff, sharing your positive journey and offering inspiration and real talk about managing mental health.
Use your lived experience and recovery tools to help consumers set achievable goals and plan positive steps forward.
Help deliver mental health education that's tailored to what consumers need, making sure everyone feels heard and supported.
Support psychoeducation programs and peer support groups that create a welcoming space for sharing, learning and growing together.
About you:
Personal lived experience of caring for someone with a lived experience of mental illness and recovery (public or private) (Under Section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991).
Getting or working towards a Certificate III in Mental Health Peer Work (or something similar) is highly desirable.




Understand and believe in recovery principles and love using a strength-based approach to help others shine.
Have the skills to connect, listen, and work seamlessly with a diverse team of professionals.
Passionate about supporting the consumer perspective and helping improve services to make a real difference.
What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $50,292 p.a. is comprised of:

An hourly rate between $39.98 - $44.45 p.h.
12.75% employer superannuation contribution
17.5% leave loading
