Provisional Fellow positions in Paediatric Emergency Medicine are available at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick, for the 2027 Clinical Year, commencing from 01 February 2027.

The Provisional Fellow position provides Advanced Trainees an chance to further their training, developing skills important for a consultant role in the spheres of clinical care, education and training as well as research with support from the team consultants and other health care professionals. The Provisional Fellow role is a leadership role, both within the department for other junior medical staff and medical students as well as members of the multidisciplinary team, but also across the broader hospital community.

Selection Criteria:

- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
- Registered with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians,



Australasian College for Emergency Medicine or College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand or equivalent overseas college as an Advanced Trainee or equivalent.
- 6 months experience in an accredited paediatric teaching hospital emergency department, or equivalent.
- Completion of APLS or equivalent within 5 years, or on a waiting list/scheduled to undertake the course.
- Excellent communication, leadership and teamwork skills with demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with other health professionals.
- Demonstrated ongoing commitment to further education and professional development and demonstrated ability to teach, with a willingness to participate in the teaching of Medical Students, Junior Medical Staff and other clinical staff.
- Understanding of research methodology or research experience and a willingness to undertake research proposal.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and demonstrated ability to work independently within a complex clinical environment.
