Recruitment Consultant
Role Summary
This is a full 360 Recruitment Consultant role, offering the opportunity to develop and manage your own specialist technology recruitment desk within a high-growth sector.
You will be responsible for building long-term relationships with both clients and candidates, managing the full recruitment lifecycle, and developing your own market presence within a specialist technology niche.

Responsibilities
Candidate Management & Delivery
- Source and engage high-quality technology professionals through our CRM, ATS, LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, referrals, networking, and market mapping activities.
- Build and maintain a strong network of candidates within your specialist technology market.
- Conduct candidate qualification calls and interviews to assess technical skills, experience, motivations, and suitability.
- Manage candidates throughout the recruitment process, providing guidance, preparation, and feedback.
- Coordinate and secure interviews between candidates and clients.
- Negotiate and manage offer processes through to successful placement.
Client Management & Business Development
- Develop and manage relationships with new and existing clients across Australia and the wider APAC region.
- Conduct business development activities to identify and secure recent recruitment partnerships.
- Generate new client opportunities through networking, referrals, market research, and proactive outreach.
- Arrange and attend meetings with prospective and existing clients, both virtually and in person.
- Negotiate terms of business and recruitment agreements.
- Account manage key client relationships, ensuring a high level of service and delivery.
- Develop a thorough understanding of client businesses, hiring requirements,
and market challenges.
Market Development
- Build a recognised market presence within your specialist technology niche.
- Develop strong networks across both candidate and client communities.
- Stay informed on industry trends, salary benchmarking, competitor activity, and market developments.
- Create and publish professional recruitment content across LinkedIn and other relevant platforms to strengthen personal and company branding.
- Contribute to the growth and expansion of Pearson Carter's technology recruitment offering across the APAC region.
Operational Excellence
- Maintain accurate records within the CRM and Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
- Manage recruitment processes efficiently, ensuring exceptional candidate and client experiences.
- Achieve and exceed individual activity, billing, and revenue targets.
- Collaborate with colleagues across our international offices to share market knowledge and opportunities.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Bachelor degree in business, communications, psychology or related field.
- At least 1 year of highly relevant experience
- Previous Recruitment experience within Technology, Software Development, IT, Digital, AI, ERP, Data, Cloud, Cyber Security, or related recruitment markets.
- Previous Sales, Marketing or Account management experience.
- Experience building and developing a successful recruitment desk.
- A strong track record in sales, business development, or a target-driven environment.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to manage multiple recruitment processes simultaneously.
- Strong networking, negotiation, and influencing abilities.
- High levels of self-motivation, resilience, and professionalism.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- A collaborative approach and desire to contribute to a growing team environment.
