Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join our kitchen team. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing, cooking and presenting high-quality meals while supporting the smooth daily operation of the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

- Preparing, cooking and presenting meals in accordance with menu specifications, recipes and quality standards.
- Ensuring all dishes are served with consistent taste, quality, portion control and presentation.
- Assisting with menu planning, daily specials and kitchen operations.
- Supervising and supporting kitchen staff during food preparation and service.
- Providing training and guidance to kitchen staff where required.
- Monitoring food preparation, cooking times and kitchen workflow to ensure timely service.
- Maintaining high standards of food safety,



hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with health regulations.
- Managing stock levels, assisting with ordering and ensuring ingredients are stored correctly.
- Minimising food wastage and supporting efficient kitchen cost control.
- Checking the quality and freshness of ingredients before use.
- Ensuring kitchen equipment is used safely and maintained in good working condition.
- Working closely with management and the kitchen team to improve kitchen operations and customer experience.
- Handling customer feedback professionally and making adjustments where required.
- Maintaining a positive, professional and team-focused attitude at all times.

What We Offer

- Market-competitive salary package of A$79,000.00 – A$81,000.00 per year plus 12% superannuation.

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of previous experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen environment.
- Diploma of Hospitality Management will be highly regarded.
- Bachelor qualification will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
- Experience in bistro, club, restaurant or similar commercial kitchen environments.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Positive attitude, reliability and commitment to high standards.

Salary: A$79,000.00 – A$81,000.00 per year + 12% superannuation
