Yougawalla Pastoral Company, a collection of cattle stations across the Kimberley region in Western Australia, are looking for two skilled and experienced Mechanics to play a pivotal role keeping our vehicles, trucks, motorbikes and station machinery running smoothly while enjoying the unique lifestyle that comes with working on a cattle station.

Responsibilities of this Role

· Undertake regular maintenance, services and repairs of vehicles and machinery as required

· Respond to problems and call outs as they occur

· Operate machinery and tools safely and provide supervision and training to station staff on how to perform all daily checks and services

· Maintain a record of all parts used (for reordering) and ensure commonly required parts are always in stock

Skills Required

· Confident in using tools and equipment efficiently and safely

· Be able to work independently and in a team in a remote location

· Develop innovative solutions when required, especially when certain parts or tools may not be readily available

· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills would be advantageous as would positive communication skills and a positive attitude

Qualifications and Experience





· Trade qualified in Diesel/ Heavy Vehicle Mechanics with at least 2 years’ experience

· Experience working as a mechanic in a similar role would be ideal, along with a genuine passion for station life

· Ability to operate diagnostic and test equipment safely to complete a range of tasks across the company’s fleet

· C Class drivers’ licence is essential

· Motorcycle licence would be advantageous as would an HR or MC Drivers Licence

The Kimberley region has an extreme climate, so applicants must be fit to work in high temperatures with high humidity. Alcohol and drug testing may be conducted from time to time with zero tolerance for intoxication.
