In Work Support Officer/Workforce Retention Officer

Location: Townsville

Salary: $77,452.28 plus superannuation Employment Type: Full-Time Reports To: Team Leader

About the Role

As a Workforce Retention Consultant, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals with disability to maintain sustainable employment and achieve long-term career success.

Working closely with both employees and employers, you will provide ongoing post-placement support, workplace interventions and career development guidance to ensure successful employment outcomes. Acting as a key link between employers and employees, you will identify and address barriers, facilitate workplace adjustments and provide tailored support strategies that promote job retention and career progression.

You will also be responsible for managing employment milestones and outcome claims, ensuring compliance while supporting clients to achieve meaningful and lasting employment outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Post-Placement Support & Job Retention

· Conduct Workplace Compatibility Assessments and develop action plans to support employment retention.

· Provide ongoing post-placement support tailored to the needs of both clients and employers.

· Monitor client progress and adjust support strategies to maximise long-term employment outcomes.





· Maintain regular contact with clients and employers to proactively address concerns and identify opportunities for improvement.

· Support workplace modifications and reasonable adjustments where required.

Career Development & Client Support

· Develop and maintain Career Action Plans that support career growth and progression.

· Provide coaching and guidance to help clients achieve their employment and professional development goals.

· Deliver customised employment solutions including job carving and task tailoring.

· Identify skills development opportunities and support clients in achieving career advancement objectives.

Employer Engagement & Stakeholder Management

· Build and maintain strong working relationships with employers.

· Act as a key point of contact between employers and employees to facilitate positive workplace relationships.

· Support employers in creating inclusive and supportive workplaces.

· Facilitate case conferences and collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent and effective service delivery.

Outcome Management & Compliance

· Manage and track employment milestones, including 12, 26 and 52-week outcomes.

· Ensure claims are completed accurately, compliantly and within required timeframes.

· Monitor declared earnings and benchmark hours to minimise compliance risks.

· Assist with wage subsidy and JobAccess processes, including reimbursement facilitation.





· Maintain accurate documentation and records within internal systems.

Workplace Health & Safety

· Promote secure work practices and contribute to a positive safety culture.

· Identify and report hazards, incidents and risks in accordance with organisational requirements.

· Participate in workplace health and safety initiatives and emergency procedures.

About You

You will demonstrate:

· Experience within employment services, disability services or a related field.

· Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

· Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.

· Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

· The ability to work collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

· A proactive and solutions-focused approach.

· The ability to manage competing priorities and achieve performance outcomes.

Essential Requirements

· Current Driver Licence.

· National Police Check.

· Relevant qualification or willingness to obtain one if required.
