Position Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and driven Computer Network and Systems Engineer to become part of our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimising our organisation’s network and system infrastructure. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our IT environment, supporting the business in meeting its technology objectives effectively.

Responsibilities:

- Design, configure, and deploy robust and scalable computer networks, including Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), and wireless networks, in accordance with organisational requirements and industry best practices
- Administer, monitor, and maintain the company’s server infrastructure, including both physical and virtual servers, to ensure optimal performance, availability, and reliability
- Implement and maintain comprehensive network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPNs, and secure access controls, to safeguard the organisation’s data and systems from unauthorised access and cyber threats
- Diagnose and resolve complex network and systems issues promptly, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to business operations
- Monitor network performance and proactively identify bottlenecks, performance issues, and areas for improvement to optimise network efficiency and ensure smooth data flow
- Plan and execute network upgrades, expansions, and technology refresh cycles to maintain an up-to-date infrastructure capable of supporting evolving business needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, IT support, and management, to understand business needs and provide technical solutions
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, system setups, troubleshooting procedures, and related technical records. Prepare regular reports on network performance, security, and maintenance activities




- Implement and maintain robust data backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability in the event of unforeseen incidents
- Stay current with the latest advancements in networking and systems technologies, evaluate their relevance, and recommend innovative solutions to enhance the organisation’s infrastructure
- Conduct preventative maintenance on Data Centre systems as per schedule and ensure effective operation of mechanical building systems

Qualifications:

- At least 2 years of experience in a similar position
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline; relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or MCSE are highly valued
- Proven track record as a Network and Systems Engineer, with hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and managing complex IT infrastructures
- Solid understanding of network protocols, topologies, and technologies (including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN), along with experience using network hardware from providers like Cisco and Juniper
- Strong skills in server administration, virtualisation platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Good knowledge of network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and core cyber security principles
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively
- Solid communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work confidently with colleagues and stakeholders across all levels
- Adaptable and well-organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment

Salary: $70,000 to $120,000 per year + Super
