You will be responsible for completing detailed excavation works, supporting civil teams on site, and ensuring all tasks are carried out safely and to specification. This is a full‑time role offering long hours, stability and solid career prospects with a respected civil contractor.
Key Responsibilities
- Excavation of sewer, stormwater, water and plumbing trenches
- Working safely around live underground services (water, gas, electrical, comms)
- Reading and interpreting service plans and locating information
- Safe excavation within road corridors and construction sites
- Trenching, backfilling, bedding and reinstatement works
- Daily machine checks, inspections and basic maintenance
- Assisting the crew when not operating machinery
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ excavator operating experience in civil construction
- Proven experience excavating around underground services
- Strong background in plumbing, sewer and stormwater trenching
- HR Driver’s Licence is a bonus
- White Card
- Solid understanding of safe excavation practices
- Ability to work unsupervised and take ownership of tasks
- Reliable, punctual and safety‑focused
