Citipointe Christian College, established in 1978, is a leading independent, co-educational, Christian College of over 1800 students situated in Carindale, a south-eastern suburb of Brisbane. Citipointe Christian College’s commitment to the arts is demonstrated not just through curriculum subjects, but through various arts co-curricular activities and opportunities. All these take place through our esteemed Academy of Performing Arts. These positions support aspects of the Academy of Performing Arts, including music tuition, ensembles and beginner programs.

About the role:

Due to long standing staff departing the College, the below string hours are available for any combination of potential applicants. We encourage applicants to apply regardless of the extent of your availability in a week.

Upper Strings (violin and viola) tutors. The below hours are available to be split or spread across any combination of applicants dependent on availability. Additional administration and coordination hours are also available for coordination and management of the string program for the right applicant(s)

This is inclusive of the following:

- Private and small group tuition
- String Ensemble rehearsal(s)
- Involvement in Beginner String Program
- Coordination hours for the String program

Requirements include:





- Current Blue Card or Teachers Registration (or ability to get one).
- Qualifications and/or experience in relevant areas (Music, Arts, Education).
- Skilled and personal referees.
- Agreement to actively support the values, attitudes and ethos of the College.

Selection criteria includes:

- Understanding and support of Christian faith-based values, attitudes and beliefs.
- Ability to integrate faith and learning in an authentic and engaging manner.
- Effective instrumental teaching practices.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team.
- Effectiveorganisation and time management skills.
- Experience in group lessons small to large group lessons preferable.
- Experience and discernment in teaching and assessing instrumental music.
- A knowledge of contemporary instrumental teaching and pedagogy.
- Experience of preparation of students for internal and external exams (ie. AMEB).
- Ensemble directing experience preferable.
