About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Female Disability Support Worker who speaks Arabic to provide one-on-one in-home support for a participant living in Preston, VIC.

The participant is recovering from a recent stroke and is living with aphasia and cognitive impairment, which affect communication, memory, judgment, and day-to-day functioning. She requires consistent daytime supervision and support to remain safe at home and cannot be left unattended due to the risk of falls, confusion, difficulty responding in emergencies, and challenges communicating her needs.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with personal care, including showering, dressing, and grooming.
- Prepare meals and provide assistance with eating and drinking when required.
- Provide medication reminders and supervision.
- Support protected mobility and reduce falls risk.
- Complete light household duties, including cleaning and laundry.
- Provide communication support for a participant with aphasia.




- Transport and accompany the participant to medical and therapy appointments.
- Offer daily prompting, reassurance, routine support, and meaningful social engagement.
- Monitor the participant's wellbeing and report any concerns as required.

Essential Requirements

- Female support worker (participant preference)
- Fluent in Arabic.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willing to obtain)
- Current Working with Children Check (if required)
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Current Australian driver's licence and a reliable, insured vehicle
- Ability to provide compassionate, respectful, and person-centred support
- Reliable, patient, and committed to providing consistent in-home care

Desirable Skills & Experience

- Experience supporting people recovering from stroke.
- Knowledge of aphasia and cognitive impairment.
- Experience providing personal care and community access support.
- Understanding of person-centred practice and safe manual handling.
