POSITION PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE

The Senior Officer – Property Events, Activations & Marketing supports the delivery of
Council’s commercial activation, marketing and visitor engagement initiatives across
Council-owned assets and precincts.

The role coordinates marketing campaigns, promotional activities, operational event
delivery and stakeholder engagement activities that support increased visitation,
activation outcomes and revenue generation.

The position coordinates digital communications, branding materials, activation logistics
and operational coordination associated with Council’s commercial activation initiatives.

The role provides operational support to the Program Leader through campaign
coordination, contractor liaison, stakeholder engagement and day-to-day activation and
marketing activities.

RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to Title: Program Leader – Property Commercial

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing & Promotional Coordination

- Coordinate marketing campaigns, promotional activities and visitor engagement

initiatives across Council activation sites and commercial assets.
- Assist with the delivery of branding, digital communications, promotional collateral and

activation-related marketing materials.
- Maintain activation-related website content, social media updates and digital

communication platforms.
- Assist in delivering marketing activities that increase visitation, customer engagement

and commercial activation outcomes.

Events & Activation Delivery

- Coordinate operational delivery activities associated with Council events, activations

and promotional initiatives.
- Support activation logistics, contractor coordination and operational event

requirements.
- Assist in the delivery of sponsorship initiatives, stakeholder activations and visitor

engagement activities.
- Monitor operational event requirements to ensure activities are delivered in

accordance with Council procedures and approved frameworks.

Stakeholder & Partnership Coordination

- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with contractors, sponsors,

businesses, community organisations and internal stakeholders.
- Support stakeholder engagement activities associated with activation initiatives,

partnerships and promotional programs.
- Respond to operational enquiries and activation-related requests in a professional and

timely manner.

Financial & Operational Administration

- Assist with budget monitoring, purchase orders, invoices and financial administration





associated with activation programs and marketing initiatives.
- Support reporting activities relating to activation performance, visitor engagement and

commercial outcomes.
- Maintain operational records, campaign documentation and activation-related

reporting information.

Governance & Service Support

- Support compliance with WHS, procurement, risk and operational requirements

associated with events and activation activities.
- Assist with operational planning, service improvements and activation coordination

activities.
- Prepare reports, correspondence and operational documentation associated with

activation initiatives and commercial programs.

WORKPLACE HEALTH & SAFETY

Ensure compliance with WHS obligations and responsibilities as outlined in Councils
policies and procedures and under the relevant WHS legislation. These include but are
not limited to: identifying potentially unsafe situations or work practices and notifying your
Supervisor or Manager (or the Health, Safety Manager/Area Safety Representative);
never performing a task that you believe is dangerous or for which you do not have the
experience, or have not received appropriate instructions and training or where the correct
equipment to carry out the task safely is not available; always work in a protected manner and
in accordance with safety instructions, where applicable; use the work equipment supplied
for the job, in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions), and any personal
protective equipment, which the Council deems necessary and has provided; be safety
aware and report any actions to your line manager which will assist the Council to meet
its legal workplace health and safety obligations.

You have the right to cease or direct cessation of unsafe work. In addition you are required
at all times to comply with Councils Asbestos Management Plan and Policy.

COMPLIANCE & RISK

- Ensure the facilities are compliant with relevant standards,



regulations, codes of

practice and policies applicable to the services being provided.
- Ensure the team is well versed in emergency procedures with regular reviews to

ensure the safety of the general public and staff.
- Ensure appropriate processes and audits are in place to monitor compliance with the

above.

COMMUNICATION

The position requires regular communication with a broad range of internal and external
stakeholders.

Strong verbal and written communication skills are required to coordinate stakeholders,
prepare marketing and operational communications, and support activation and visitor
engagement outcomes.

JUDGEMENT & PROBLEM SOLVING

The position exercises professional judgement in managing operational activation,
marketing and stakeholder coordination activities.

The role is responsible for identifying operational issues, assessing priorities and
implementing practical solutions within established procedures and approved frameworks.

The incumbent operates with a moderate degree of autonomy while escalating complex,
high-risk or sensitive matters to the Program Leader as required.

AUTHORITY
The position exercises delegated authority in relation to operational activation, marketing
and event coordination activities in accordance with Council policies, procedures and
approved delegations.

The role coordinates operational marketing, activation and stakeholder activities within
approved frameworks and budgets.

The position provides recommendations to the Program Leader relating to operational
improvements, visitor engagement activities and activation outcomes.

SKILL, EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES

ESSENTIAL

- Demonstrated experience in marketing, events, activations, tourism, communications

or related operational environments.

- Experience coordinating marketing campaigns, promotional activities, digital

communications or visitor engagement initiatives.

- Demonstrated experience managing websites, social media platforms, branding

materials or promotional collateral.

- Strong organisational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage

competing priorities and operational deadlines.

- Demonstrated stakeholder engagement and communication skills with the ability to

work effectively with businesses, contractors, sponsors and internal stakeholders.

- Experience supporting budget administration, operational reporting and contractor

coordination activities.

- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while

exercising initiative and sound judgement.

- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.

- Current NSW Class C Driver Licence.

DESIRABLE
• Experience in local government, tourism, events, marketing or visitor economy

environments.

- Knowledge of digital marketing platforms, website content management systems or

social media tools.

- Experience supporting activation initiatives across public spaces, community facilities

or commercial precincts
