Where you'll be working
Ryde Hospital is currently undergoing an exciting $479 million Redevelopment that will transform the delivery of healthcare for the Ryde local community. The Redevelopment will result in new and enhanced health facilities and services including emergency, critical care, inpatient, community, ambulatory care services and more.

What you'll be doing
This is an unaccredited, advanced training position for 12 months of general Gastroenterology based at Ryde Hospital. The position involves management of patients admitted under the gastroenterology service and referred for inpatient consultations.
Responsibilities include managing the care of inpatients referred to the gastroenterology service, facilitation of urgent and other endoscopy procedures and participation in journal club, gastroenterology departmental meetings and morbidity and mortality meetings. Where possible, attendance at endoscopy lists and participation in outpatient clinics may be arranged.



The position requires close communication with the emergency, general medical and surgical and theatre teams. The Trainee will also be involved in education and research activities and quality assurance projects.

- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.

- Successful completion of the written and clinical examinations of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians

- Excellent theoretical knowledge and clinical judgement.

- Adept ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams, including the sharing of appropriate information internally and externally with key persons or services.

- Advanced verbal, written and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to vary communication style in line with the understanding of the needs of diverse audiences.

- Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads and display a flexible approach to meet changing situations in a demanding and unpredictable clinical environment.

- Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development and self-education, quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
