Cannabis Doctors Tasmania is seeking General Practitioners to join our growing team of telehealth clinicians.

We are an independent, doctor-led clinic providing medicinal cannabis consultations to patients across Australia who are living with chronic and treatment-resistant health conditions. Our focus is on delivering ethical, evidence-based care while giving doctors the freedom to practise according to their own clinical judgement.

Our clinic operates solely on consultation fees. We do not accept commissions, rebates or incentives from pharmacies or product companies, ensuring every prescribing decision is made solely in the best interests of the patient.

Whether you're looking to add a single clinic session each week or build a busy telehealth practice, we can tailor your schedule to suit.

Appointments can be offered between 8:00 am and 9:00 pm, seven days a week, making it easy to combine this role with general practice, hospital work, specialist training or family commitments.

Patient demand continues to grow rapidly, and new doctors typically establish a full appointment book in a relatively short period.

Earnings

Doctors are engaged on a percentage-of-billings model.





Consultation Fees

- Initial consultation (30 minutes): $139
- Follow-up consultation (15 minutes): $99

Indicative Hourly Income

Initial consultations

- Approximately $166–181+ per hour

Follow-up consultations

- Approximately $238–257+ per hour

As your patient base grows, follow-up reviews generally become a larger proportion of your workload, with most clinicians earning within—or above—these indicative ranges depending on their appointment mix and availability.

About the Role

You'll provide telehealth consultations for patients with chronic and complex medical conditions who have not achieved adequate symptom control with conventional treatment options.

Your role will include:

- Conducting comprehensive clinical assessments.
- Reviewing previous investigations and treatment history.
- Assessing suitability for medicinal cannabis therapy.
- Developing individualised treatment plans.
- Monitoring treatment effectiveness and patient progress.
- Communicating with patients' regular healthcare providers to promote coordinated care.

Our experienced administrative team takes care of appointment scheduling, patient communication, prescription processing and day-to-day logistics, allowing you to concentrate on clinical practice.

- Independent, brand-neutral prescribing.
- Patient choice regarding dispensing pharmacy.

- Routine communication with each patient's regular GP.

- Structured follow-up and ongoing outcome monitoring.
- Collaborative care with the patient's broader healthcare team.

About You

We're looking for doctors who have:

- Current AHPRA registration.
- At least three years of clinical experience.
- Excellent communication and consultation skills.
- Confidence providing care via telehealth.
- An interest in chronic disease management and patients with complex health needs.

Previous medicinal cannabis prescribing experience is not required.
