About the role
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension depending on organisational needs.

We are ready to add to our team for a capable Financial Accountant to support the CFO and CEO across financial reporting, compliance, and other core accounting functions within a regulated aged care environment.

Your will be responsible for key reporting requirements including QFR, ACFR, and ACNC submissions.

Key responsibilities

- Preparation of General Purpose and Special Purpose Financial Reports (including annual financial statements), ensuring audit-ready financials
- EOFY adjusting entries and year-end processes
- Quarterly Financial Reports (QFR)
- Annual Aged Care Financial Report (ACFR)
- ACNC Annual Information Statement and financial reports
- Preparation of internal financial reports for the CEO and CFO
- Review and quality control of Support at Home financial and claiming data
- Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Payroll processing, fortnightly payroll reconciliations, and EOFY payroll reconciliation processes
- Maintaining a transparent and well-structured chart of accounts and cost centre structure
- Setup and maintenance of cost centres across programs and services




- Liaising with external auditors and supporting the audit process
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for Board and management
- Assisting with grant applications and financial aspects of projects
- Reviewing and updating accounting procedures and internal processes
- Contributing to improvements in financial systems, reporting processes, and data accuracy
- Supporting broader finance functions as required, including ad hoc reporting

Skills and qualification

- Tertiary Accounting Qualifications
- Strong experience in financial reporting and audit preparation
- High attention to detail, particularly in reconciliations and compliance reporting
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of key tasks
- Practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills

Highly desirable

- Experience in aged care, home care or not-for-profit
- Understanding of Support at Home / Home Care Packages (advantage)
- CPA or CA qualified (or working towards)
- 5+ years’ accounting experience

Pay: $90,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
