Redpath Mining is seeking experienced and safety-focused Jumbo Operator to join our team at the Mogalakwena Project in South Africa. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a global underground mining contractor on a long-term project while enjoying a 6 weeks on / 3 weeks off FIFO roster.
About the Role
Reporting to the Development Superintendent, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of underground jumbo drilling equipment to achieve planned development targets while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate the jumbo to complete development drilling, ground support installation, cable bolt drilling, probe drilling and other assigned underground development activities.
- Maintain and utilise current ground support profiles, survey plans and face mark-up documentation to ensure all drilling activities are completed accurately and in accordance with mine plans and site procedures.
- Conduct face mark-ups to the required standard, including identifying and marking hazards and ensuring drilling is completed safely and accurately.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping by keeping work areas organised, managing cables, hoses and ground support materials, and ensuring compliance with site safety standards.
- Perform routine pre-start inspections, monitor equipment condition, promptly report maintenance issues and assist the maintenance team with scheduled servicing as required.
