Context Statement:
The Department of the Legislative Assembly (DLA) provides the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly, its
Members and Committees with quality and timely support for the operation of the Parliament, Parliamentary
Committees, the Parliament House precinct, and Electorate Offices (and staff).

The PPC unit provides support and advice to MLAs,

electorate office employees, and DLA managers and staff
across HR, work health and safety, corporate communications, and related administrative functions that
support the effective operation of electorate offices and DLA business units.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide administrative assistance to the PPC unit, including monitoring the generic email account and

online customer portal, managing incoming calls and preparing correspondence and employment
contracts.

2. Assist employees to resolve basic HR, employment contract, and casual timesheet questions, and
progress complex matters to the HR Service Delivery Manager.

3. Record corporate and personnel information in the Territory Records Management (TRM) system.
4. Prepare employment contracts using pre-defined templates, including liaising with stakeholders to ensure

the appropriate information and approvals are received.

arrangements and professional development activities.

8. Provide ad hoc administrative support to other areas of the DLA during busy periods.

Selection Criteria:
Essential:
1. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
2. Experience in an administration support role providing HR support and quality client services.
