ROLE PURPOSE

The Project Engineer manages technical workstreams for large scale renewable energy projects, with a focus on wind and battery energy storage projects. The role includes wind turbine layout design, battery energy storage layout assessment, civil and electrical balance of plant coordination, constraints assessment, technical risk management and the optimisation of technical deliverables required for project development, approvals and commercial decision making.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manage technical development workstreams by coordinating internal inputs, external consultants and project deliverables to support project development, approvals and commercial decision making.
- Lead wind project layout design and support civil and electrical balance of plant development, covering wind turbine positioning, access tracks, hardstands, site access, substations, internal reticulation and grid connection interfaces.
- Assess project layouts against key land, environmental, planning, engineering and development constraints to identify risks, trade offs and opportunities for optimisation.
- Conduct and review energy yield assessments and layout optimisation for wind projects, including assessment of wind turbine technology, wake impacts, site suitability and project performance.
- Manage and maintain technical assumptions, design inputs, GIS layers, constraints registers and project documentation used to support project development decisions.




- Coordinate technical inputs for planning, environmental and development approval processes, including preparation and review of technical information required for referrals, assessments and project reports.
- Identify, track and manage key technical risks that may influence project feasibility and development schedule.
- Support ongoing wind and battery energy storage developments by providing data driven technical advice aligned with project priorities, value and schedule.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Engineering bachelor’s degree or higher qualification
- Engineering background with experience in renewable energy project development.
- Understanding of wind and battery energy storage project design, development constraints and technical risk management.
- Experience with GIS based analysis, layout design and renewable energy modelling tools.
- Ability to coordinate technical inputs across multiple disciplines, including development, land, planning, environmental, engineering and commercial teams.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess technical options and provide transparent advice to support project decisions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of technical summaries, assumptions registers and project documentation.

Pay: From $80,000.00 per year

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Manly NSW
