Petit Peace in Balywn, VIC is expanding the team. We have specialty coffee and filter coffee focus, and serving Asian/Japanese fusion cuisine, cakes and desserts.

About Us

Petit Peace in Balywn is a cozy Japanese/ asian inspired cafe. We specialize in Teishoku, Sando and home made dessert etc... We are looking for a passionate, detail-oriented chef to join our small, high-energy kitchen team.

As a Chef at Petit Peace , you will be responsible for crafting high-quality dishes that are as visually stunning as they are delicious. Your daily tasks will include:

- Culinary Execution: Preparing and plating menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Prep Work: Handling delicate ingredients with care, including fish, seasonal vegetables, and house-made sauces.
- Kitchen Management: Maintaining a clean, organized, and hygienic workstation in accordance with food safety regulations.
- Inventory: Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering to ensure ingredients are always fresh.




- Collaboration: Working closely with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth service and timely delivery of orders.

Applicant Requirements

We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Technical Skills:

- Experience: At least 1 years of experience in a commercial kitchen; experience with Japanese cuisine is highly preferred.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with Japanese ingredients (miso, mirin, dashi, etc.) and asian cooking methods is a plus!
- Consistency: The ability to replicate flavors and plating perfectly every time.

Soft Skills:

- Attention to Detail: An eye for "photo-worthy" presentation and garnish.
- Punctuality: Reliability is a must for our tight-knit team.
- Cultural Appreciation: A genuine interest in Japanese and asian food culture and hospitality.
