Westmead Food Express is a well-established café, takeaway and convenience

business that has served the Westmead community since 2009. Conveniently

located at Westmead Train Station, we serve commuters, hospital staff, local workers, students, residents and visitors.

Our business offers freshly prepared food, coffee, hot and cold beverages, snacks,

confectionery and everyday convenience products. We are committed to providing

We are seeking a capable and organised Retail Manager to oversee the daily operation of the business, coordinate staff, maintain stock and administrative records and support the delivery of efficient customer service.

Key Responsibilities

 Oversee the day-to-day operation of the café, takeaway and convenience store.

 Coordinate and supervise employees during daily trading.

 Assist with recruiting, onboarding and training new employees.

 Prepare staff rosters and allocate duties according to operational requirements.

 Monitor customer service standards and resolve customer enquiries or complaints professionally.

 Conduct regular stock takes and maintain accurate inventory records.

 Monitor stock levels, prepare orders and liaise with suppliers to maintain product availability.

 Receive and check deliveries and address discrepancies with suppliers.

 Monitor daily and weekly sales and prepare reports for the business owner.

 Maintain invoices, supplier records, sales documentation and other operational records.

 Oversee cash handling, point-of-sale transactions and daily reconciliations.

 Monitor product presentation, pricing and merchandising.

 Assist with promotional activities and identify opportunities to improve sales.

 Ensure food preparation, cleaning and storage procedures comply with food- safety requirements.

 Help maintain a safe,



clean and organised workplace.

 Support the owner in improving operating procedures, controlling wastage

and maintaining efficient business operations.

Qualifications and Experience

 An AQF Diploma or higher qualification, together with at least one year of relevant experience in retail, hospitality, customer service, administration or store operations; or

 At least three years of relevant retail or hospitality experience where a formal qualification is not held.

Previous experience in a café, takeaway-food business, convenience store or other

fast-paced customer-service environment will be highly regarded.

Skills and Attributes

 Experience coordinating daily retail or hospitality operations.

 Strong customer-service and communication skills.

 Experience with stocktaking, inventory control and ordering.

 Ability to train, support and coordinate employees.

 Experience preparing sales reports and maintaining accurate business

records.

 Ability to process invoices, orders and other administrative documentation.

 Confidence liaising with customers, suppliers and employees.

 Competence using point-of-sale systems and Microsoft Office applications.

 Robust organisation, time-management and problem-solving skills.

 Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

 Ability to work effectively in a busy and fast-paced environment.

 Knowledge of food safety and workplace health and safety practices.
