About the role

Stantec has an opportunity for a Project Accountant / Administrator to join our Financial Services Functional Support team in our Melbourne office. In this role, you will provide essential financial and administrative support to Project Managers across Australia, helping to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of project-related processes and systems.

Day-to-day tasks would involve:

- Assisting in the set-up and maintenance of projects within Stantec's financial systems and processes.
- Assisting with project invoicing to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Build and share knowledge of Stantec's accounting systems, including project setup, invoicing, financial reviews, and project close-outs.
- Helping the business achieve key performance targets relating to invoicing, unbilled revenue, debt collection, and other financial metrics.
- Providing financial reporting and insights to Project Managers and key stakeholders.
- Assist project managers with contract administration as required on a project-by-project basis.
- Performing a range of finance and administrative tasks to support the wider team.
- Contributing to a safe, quality-focused workplace and adhering to Stantec's policies, procedures, and core values.

To be successful for this role you'll need:

- Tertiary qualification in accounting or similar (preferred, but not essential).
- Relevant experience in project accounting, finance, administration, or a similar role.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work independently to meet deadlines.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience working with ERP or financial management systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.




- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with stakeholders across multiple countries.
- An understanding of internal controls or SOX principles, or a willingness to learn.
- A positive, proactive, and team-focused attitude.
