Join Centacare FNQ’s Employment & Training team as a volunteer and help community members build confidence, workplace skills, and employment readiness.
As a volunteer, you’ll support our Employment Capacity Building Group Program, working alongside experienced staff to help participants strengthen their workplace English, navigate job search tools, and explore career and training pathways.
You’ll also assist participants with practical tasks like job applications, cover letters, resumes, and understanding employment-related requirements—including guidance around Blue and Yellow Card applications.
We are looking for volunteers who are:
- Confident communicators
- Patient and supportive
- Skilled at helping others prepare for interviews and build self-belief
- Comfortable working with people from diverse backgrounds
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of individuals who are actively working towards employment and independence.
Support may include:
- Resume and cover letter support
- Interview preparation and confidence-building
- Assistance with job applications
- Exploring training or career pathways
- Support understanding and applying for Yellow and Blue Cards
- Workplace English practice
