Cook in paradise on the Southern Great Barrier Reef! Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Line Chef to join our kitchen team.
About the Role:
This is a hands-on role in the kitchen, delivering buffet service for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You will work across all areas of service, including breakfast, lunch, dinner and desserts. Duties include:
- Preparing and cooking dishes to a high standard for buffet service
- Ability to do Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Dessert shifts
- Setup and replenishment of buffet stations
- Maintaining strict food safety, hygiene and allergen standards
- Supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chefs with daily operations
- Contributing positively to a collaborative kitchen team
- Bringing creative flair to menu offerings and presentation while maintaining consistency
What We’re Looking For:
- Available for a start of August start date
- Completion (or willingness to complete) a Food Handlers Certificate and Food Allergen course
- Proven experience as a Chef in a busy kitchen with bulk cooking or buffet experience
- Robust attention to detail in both food preparation and presentation
- Creative freedom to showcase ideas within a team-driven kitchen
- Flexibility to work across all service times (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and desserts)
- A strong team player with reliability and a positive attitude
Roster & Conditions:
- 10 days on, 4 days off roster
- Flights and accommodation included (single room, shared bathroom facilities)
- All meals provided
- Flights to and from Hervey Bay or Bundaberg
- Time off to snorkel and explore our stunning coral cay
