About the role
The Nurse Research Coordinator provides specialised research expertise within the Grantley Stable Neonatal Unit (GSNU) to strengthen and expand the unit's research capacity. The role supports the development of research proposals, grant funding applications, clinical governance requirements and ethical approvals, enabling the delivery of high-quality research that contributes to neonatal care and improved patient outcomes.
The successful candidate will lead and coordinate research activities, build research capability among clinicians, and foster collaborative partnerships with academic institutions, healthcare consumers and research organisations. The role also provides specialised research education, mentorship and consultancy services while supporting publication, grant success and the translation of evidence into clinical practice.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
Lead and coordinate neonatal research activities, including the development of research protocols, ethics submissions, governance approvals and grant applications.
Build research capability by providing education, mentoring, supervision and support to clinicians and novice researchers.
Collaborate with academic partners, healthcare consumers and internal and external stakeholders to identify research, funding and training opportunities.
Evaluate,
monitor and report on research and quality improvement outcomes while ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practice standards and relevant legislation.
Contribute to the advancement of neonatal care through publication of research findings, conference presentations and the translation of evidence into practice.
