About the Role

Desert Families Foundation AU Ltd is seeking passionate and experienced individuals to join our Volunteer Board of Directors.

Board Directors play a vital role in providing strategic leadership, governance oversight, and support to ensure the organisation continues to operate effectively, ethically, and in accordance with Australian charity requirements.

This is an prospect to contribute your skills, knowledge, and experience to help shape the future direction of a growing community-focused charity.

Key Responsibilities

Board Directors will:

- Provide strategic guidance and leadership to the organisation.
- Support good governance and compliance with ACNC and legal obligations.
- Review and contribute to organisational policies and procedures.
- Provide oversight of financial sustainability and risk management.
- Support fundraising, partnerships, and community engagement.
- Attend and actively participate in Board meetings.
- Promote the vision, values, and objectives of Desert Families Foundation AU Ltd.




- Act in the best interests of the charity and the communities we support.

Skills and Experience Sought

We welcome applications from people with experience in areas such as:

- Community services and social welfare.
- Disability, youth, family, or health services.
- Finance, accounting, or business management.
- Legal and compliance.
- Governance and not-for-profit leadership.
- Fundraising and grant writing.

Remuneration

This is a voluntary unpaid Board position. Board Directors do not receive salary or wages. Approved expenses may be reimbursed in accordance with the organisation’s policies and constitution.

Time Commitment

Board Directors are expected to:

- Attend regular Board meetings.
- Participate in strategic discussions and decision-making.
- Support key organisational activities as required.
