The Role

We are seeking an experienced Taxation Accountant to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is an on-site role based in Mildura, Victoria. As a key member of our accounting team, you will manage a portfolio of client taxation matters and play an important role in providing quality advice and supporting our growing client base.

This role provides the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, including primary producers, small businesses, family trusts, partnerships, and corporate entities, while applying your technical skills to deliver practical taxation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Advising clients on tax planning strategies, including primary production taxation matters such as Farm Management Deposits (FMDs), primary production averaging, Division 7A loan compliance, and small business CGT concessions
- Preparation and lodgement of individual, partnership, trust, and company income tax returns, including preparation of FBT, BAS, and IAS obligations
- Reviewing financial statements for tax compliance and accurate tax

- Conducting client tax interviews to understand their needs and provide tailored taxation solutions
- Managing ATO correspondence, audits, and compliance obligations




- Supporting and mentoring junior staff while actively contributing to the firm's growth initiatives

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

You'll bring strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and a client-focused approach to your work.

We are looking for someone with:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline (essential)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a taxation accounting role
- CPA Australia, CA ANZ, or IPA membership, or progress toward membership, is highly regarded
- Strong working knowledge of Australian taxation legislation and ATO compliance requirements
- Experience with accounting software (Sage, HandiLedger, MYOB, Xero, or
- similar)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships independently
- Experience with primary production, agricultural, or regional business taxation (advantageous)

Eligibility

Applicants must be Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents to be considered for this role.

Location

This is an on-site position based in Mildura, Victoria 3500, Australia. Candidates must be willing and able to relocate to or reside in Mildura.
