About the role

We have a new opportunity for an experienced Leisure and Lifestyle (Activities) Coordinator to join our Katherine Aged Care facilities which include Rocky Ridge Nursing Home and Katherine Hostel, located in Katherine in the Northern Territory.

This busy and rewarding role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis at an hourly rate of $40.00 - $40.53 / hour gross base (dependent on skills and experience).

As our Leisure and Lifestyle Coordinator you will oversee and manage the development and execution of our activities calendar for our elderly residents. You will work with 3rd party allied health care providers to not only deliver on social activities but movement activities to support their physical and cognitive health. You will ensure that the activities executed are reflective of both our residents wishes and cultural preferences. They will be customised to the residents’ abilities and ensure that it provides a fun and stimulating experience.

This prospect will suit a committed person who has care and compassion and enjoys interacting with our residents. As the ideal candidate, you will have previous experience in a similar role where you have managed activity programs and developed lifestyle calendars. You will also have staff management experience and enjoy leading and mentoring other staff. You will be a person who is patient and caring and understands the importance of these activities to the livelihood of people in our care.

Skills & experience

To be considered for this role, you must submit a resume identifying the following skills and experience:

- Prior experience in a similar role working with the elderly or vulnerable.
- Certificate IV in Lifestyle or Activities or similar discipline (essential).
- Previous experience in supporting, training, leading and mentoring staff.
- Presents as a caring and supportive person who enjoys working within the Aged Care industry.
- Ability to develop activities of our elderly residents, not just for social purposes, but to support daily movement, circulation and cognitive health.
- Previous experience working with and supporting Indigenous Australians.
