About The Role
The Building Regulations Officer is a vital role within the Planning, Environment and Regulation Directorate. This position focuses on delivering customer-centric building and planning services, providing technical guidance, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Key responsibilities include conducting Building Information Certificate assessments, offering technical advice on development control matters, and collaborating with various professionals to ensure effective service delivery.
Who We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in building regulations and planning, with an ability to communicate effectively and provide expert advice to the community.
- Tertiary qualification in an area related to environmental planning and assessment such as planning, building surveying/building certification, civil engineering, architecture,
or a relevant building related qualification.
- Experience in building certification, surveying, and assessment of development applications.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to prepare detailed technical reports.
- Familiarity with the National Construction Code and relevant environmental planning legislation.

- Package: $103,552 - $109,766 gross p.a. plus 12% superannuation.
- Hours of work: Temporary Full Time. Applicants looking for Part Time hours (Min 14 hours/2 days per week required) will also be considered.
Opportunity expected to be available up to early February 2027. You will have the option of a 19 day month through Council’s flex system.
