We require the services of Food Rescue Assistants to assist our driver in collecting surplus food from Rusty's Market on Sunday afternoons, which will then be delivered by our driver to local charities as vital, free food relief. You will get to see firsthand the amount of good food that goes to waste and play a role in reducing food waste, supporting vulnerable people within our community and creating a more sustainable food system
You will work as part of a team to visit the various stalls, collect any excess produce, and bring it back to our sorting station where you’ll help to sort edible, quality food from anything we can’t take. You get the rewarding feeling of saving all that healthy food from being wasted in an active, physical, fun and social way, with a magnificent team of people!
We collect from Rusty’s every Sunday from 3:30pm until about 5pm. We’re always ready to welcome new volunteers to help us – you can join us every Sunday, or once every now and then,
we have no expectations about how many hours or how often you need to volunteer.
