We are seeking an experienced, reliable and proactive Handyman / Maintenance Officer to join our hospitality Business, providing maintenance support across busy restaurants in Sydney Harbour area.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys solving problems, and can work independently to keep our venues operating at the highest standard.
About the Role
Reporting directly to Head Office, you will conduct regular scheduled visits to each restaurant to identify, prevent and rectify maintenance issues before they become major problems.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting routine inspections across all restaurant locations.
- Identifying maintenance issues and carrying out repairs promptly.
- Performing general carpentry, painting, plastering and minor building repairs.
- Repairing doors, locks, furniture, shelving, fittings and fixtures.
- Replacing light fittings, taps, toilet hardware and other general amenities.
- Carrying out minor plumbing and electrical maintenance (where legally permitted).
- Coordinating and supervising external contractors for specialised works when required.
- Ensuring all restaurants remain safe, clean, compliant and well presented.
- Maintaining maintenance records and reporting major repair requirements to Head Office.
- Responding promptly to urgent maintenance requests.
- Assisting with restaurant refurbishments, equipment installations and recent venue projects as required.
About You
To be successful you will have:
- Previous experience as a Handyman, Maintenance Officer, Facilities Maintenance Technician or similar.
- Strong practical skills across general building maintenance.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Current unrestricted Australian Driver Licence.
- Own trade tools (preferred).
- White Card (preferred).
