What you will do
As senior budget and finance analyst, you will provide financial analysis and advice that supports key government decisions.
You will help deliver the department's annual budget process while improving financial planning and reporting.
You will:
- provide strategic budget and financial policy advice across the department
- complete complex financial analysis to support the annual budget process and cabinet submissions
- prepare and review high-quality briefs for ministers and senior leaders
- identify practical improvements to financial processes and help deliver projects across finance
- maintain accurate financial management and records management practices while working across teams.
About you
A qualification in policy, strategy or finance is desirable. Experience in public sector policy and financial management is also important.
You should also have:
- strong financial analysis and problem-solving skills
- clear communication and the ability to explain complex information
- sound judgement when planning, researching and making recommendations
- proven ability to adapt, work with others and improve the way work is done.
