Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be part of the Leadership Group that will drive future growth by providing Maintenance, asset management, and technical support to Redpath Australia group. With a modern fleet of equipment worth approx. $500m, and preferred supplier arrangements in place with leading OEM’s this is a role that doesn’t come up very often.
You will be managing a corporate Plant & Assets support team based in our Eagle Farm office plus playing a key role in supporting our maintenance teams on the ground at mine sites around the county, and oversight of our Brisbane and Kalgoorlie Service Centers. Critical to this role is continuing to build strong relationships with underground equipment OEM’s and making sure equipment purchases are fit for purpose. Whilst managing the whole equipment lifecycle through to overhauls or disposals.
- Efficiently manage the life cycle of plant and equipment assets of Redpath Australia Group;
- Managing the acquisition, maintenance, upgrading, and disposal of physical plant and equipment to maximize return on investment;
- Assist tendering with plant and equipment selection;
- Plan and organize the schedules, resources and allocation of activities to maintain the quality and value in the fleet and ensure production/development remains at optimum levels;
- Overseeing preventative and predictive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and ensure structural longevity.
- Manage budgets and administer the cost control systems;
- Plan and ensure quality overhauls, repairs and maintenance of Redpath's equipment fleet;
- Actively participate in safety leadership-based activities;
- Liaise with projects, suppliers, and subcontractors for continued efficient workflow; and
- Coordinate and assist project management staff to have appropriate resourcing and equipment; and
- Procurement & Vendor Management: Oversight of the supply chain and procurement team.
- Mechanical Trade Qualification and/or Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering;
- Experience in mobilizing equipment and ongoing fleet maintenance in an underground mining setting;
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in key leadership/management roles in an underground mining environment;
- Demonstrated experience in leading and maintaining a productive maintenance workforce;
- Solid planning and organizational skills to schedule and allocate works in balance with production and maintenance needs;
