Orana Cinemas Geraldton is looking for a motivated Gap Year Projectionist to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a school leaver or gap‑year student who wants hands‑on experience in a unique, fast‑paced entertainment environment.
About the Role
As a Projectionist, you’ll be responsible for ensuring our films run smoothly and on schedule. You’ll learn how to operate digital cinema equipment, manage screenings, and support the overall presentation quality of the cinema.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating digital projection systems — ensuring films start on time and run flawlessly
- Monitoring cinema presentation — sound, picture, lighting, and auditorium checks
- Basic technical troubleshooting
- Supporting the cinema team when required
What We’re Looking For
- A reliable,
switched‑on individual with robust attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently and following procedures
- Interest in film, tech, or behind‑the‑scenes operations
- Availability for 20–30 hours per week (flexible and negotiable)
- Able to start casually now to learn cinema operations, then move into regular hours after completing Year 12
