About Veolia

Create positive change. Be a champion of Ecological Transformation.

Join Veolia, a global leader with over 170 years of experience, operating in 40+ countries with 220,000 employees worldwide, including 6,500 staff across 300 sites in Australia and New Zealand. As part of our team, you'll contribute to crucial environmental solutions through our innovative Water, Waste, Energy and Industrial Services, helping protect the environment and address essential human needs for a sustainable future.

The Opportunity

As a world-class and best-practice facility, the Woodlawn Bioreactor Landfill handles 40% of Sydney's municipal waste. The operational process begins with containerised waste transported from Sydney via rail, which is then transferred to trucks for the final leg of the journey to the Woodlawn site. Once landfilled, the waste infrastructure and leachate is carefully managed to maximise biogas generation and collection. This in turn allows for the captured gas to be delivered to the Bioenergy Plant for renewable energy production.

In this exciting role, you will direct and oversee all operational activities at the landfill and associated infrastructure. Your leadership will ensure protected, profitable, and environmentally responsible management while consistently delivering sustainable outcomes.

The site is well-supported by highly competent and experienced operations and engineering teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding these teams, managing site finances, and overseeing project ownership and compliance. Due to the strength of the existing teams, direct landfill management experience is considered desirable but is not an essential requirement.
