Southbound Recruitment is hiring a full-time Pastry Chef or Pastry Cook for Alchemy Bakehouse in Ocean Grove, Victoria.

Alchemy Bakehouse is seeking a motivated and reliable Pastry Chef or Pastry Cook to join their team.

This role would suit someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working in a busy bakery environment, and is confident across a range of pastry and bakery production tasks.

The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, a positive work ethic, and the ability to assist with the daily operations of a high-volume bakery.

Duties and responsibilities include:

- Prepare and bake a range of pastry products.
- Assist with the preparation and presentation of cakes, pastries and other bakery items.
- Follow recipes and production schedules to maintain consistent quality.
- Monitor ingredients, prepare fillings, and manage daily prep requirements.
- Keep work areas clean and organised in line with food safety standards.
- Support the broader baking team during busy periods or large production runs.
- To be considered for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:




- Experience working as a Pastry Chef, Pastry Cook or similar.
- Strong knowledge of pastry production and baking processes.
- Experience with cakes, pastries and decorating.
- Mixing experience and an understanding of pastry and yeast doughs.
- Sound knowledge of weighing ingredients and following recipes.
- Experience using bakery equipment, including ovens and mixers.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong work ethic.
- A willingness to learn and work as part of a team.
