What you'll be doing

This position is primarily designed to benefit junior doctors who wish to pursue a career in surgery, focusing on General Surgery. The position will provide effective surgical services to patients under supervision within SWSLHD in complex clinical environments whilst facilitating trainee’s preparation for a career in surgery.

Responsibilities include:

- To provide timely and effective medical services to patients, under supervision,



within SWSLHD while developing expertise in medical practice in a complex clinical environment.
- To also communicate effectively with patients, their families and nursing, allied health and medical professionals.

- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia.
- At least three years' post graduate experience in public hospital service (or equivalent)
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment.
- Demonstrated excellent clinical skills, judgement and expertise.
- Demonstrated operative experience in General Surgery. Working towards sitting Part 1 examination.
- Demonstrated teamwork, time management and problem-solving skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in educating undergraduate medical and allied health professionals
