About the Role

This is a high-intensity, hands-on Fleet Allocation role suited to someone who thrives under pressure, can think on their feet, and confidently takes the lead.

Based at our Altona depot, you will be responsible for the day-to-day planning and execution of fleet operations, ensuring service delivery, compliance, and efficiency targets are consistently met. While supported by an Assistant Fleet Allocator, you will be the primary decision-maker and lead allocator on shift.

Reporting to the Site Manager, your responsibilities will include:

- End-to-end fleet planning to maximise utilisation, efficiency, and capacity
- Allocating and routing loads across company fleet, subcontractors, and labour
- Managing daily operational constraints with proactive problem-solving
- Ensuring compliance with Mass Management, Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and fatigue regulations
- Monitoring driver schedules to meet fatigue management requirements
- Ensuring Dangerous Goods are handled in line with legislative and OH&S; requirements
- Monitoring completion of driver pre-trip checks and compliance documentation
- Actively managing operational costs and KPI performance
- Identifying process improvements and implementing practical solutions
- Working closely with the Operations Manager and Site Manager
- Availability for rostered weekend work, where required
- Provide support with Line Haul fleet allocations,



where required

This role is fast-paced, requiring urgency, decisiveness, and strong communication. You must be confident picking up the phone, engaging drivers, subcontractors, and internal teams, and pushing for answers to ensure KPIs, service levels, and compliance requirements are consistently met in a high-pressure operational environment

About You

You are calm under pressure, commercially minded and operationally sharp. You take ownership and lead from the front.

You will bring:

- Proven experience in Fleet Allocation within transport/logistics
- Strong knowledge of the Melbourne metropolitan area
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a high-volume, time-critical setting
- Sound understanding of CoR, fatigue management, and safety obligations
- Strong communication skills with drivers, customers, and internal stakeholders
- Confidence to lead daily operations while working collaboratively with support staff
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with attention to detail
- A positive, approachable and team-oriented attitude
